Favorite stores....

So, we all have our favorite stores, right? Well, I just wanted to share a few of mine.

I love, love, love World Market. Have you been there? If not, go!!

I also love Kirkland's. Between these two stores, my house is almost completely redone. Good deals on home furnishings here.

Hobby Lobby is another good one. They are Christain owned and closed on Sundays. I got two huge antiquiy-looking crosses for my living room for 50% off, so they were like $15.00 each! Good deal cause they are about 2 feet tall and metal. Very pretty!

Hmmm, of course I love to shop at Bath and Body Works. A girl's gotta feel pretty, right? They just ended there end of the year clearance sales. I got three things of hand soap for 10 bucks!

Those are my top stores right now. I'll let ya know if I start loving any more!

Boost the Immune System!!

So, it's cold and flu season, and having 6 kids, I really can't afford for each of them to take turns being sick. So, here's what I do to keep my brood from getting 'sick germs.'

1.) WASH YOUR HANDS!! This is the number one best way to prevent the spread of disease. Wash them often, wash them well.

2.) Each person takes a daily mulitvitamin. Remember, not all vitamins are created equal. I had a doctor tell me once that he recommends Flintstone's chewables for kids and adults!

3.) Load up on the Vitamin C!! Your body needs it to help fight off the nasties!

4.) Plenty of rest, lots of fluids, and healthy well-balanced meals are also key.

5.) Don't let everyone share cups and don't forget to scrub toilets, door knobs and sinks.

So, here's to keeping everyone safe, healthy and happy this year!

It's not fair!!

That's what my kids think anway. The older ones have all tried to stay home from school. My rule is, if your not 1.) Running fever greater than 101, 2.) Not puking violently, or 3.) Not bleeding profusely, you're going to school.

"But, mom, so-and-so's mom lets her stay home sometimes when she's not sick."

"Well, I'm not so-and-so's mom, am I?" This is the conversation I had recently with my 13 year old drama queen.

"It's not fair. Other kids don't have a nurse for a mom and they get to stay home!"

My poor kids! Not! I'm going to continue to do things the way my mom did them!
